Believe Project: $100 for sister to visit her husband in hospital

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Janice Starkey of Palatine.

Here is an excerpt of her suggestion:

"I am writing on behalf of my cousin Kim. She and her husband are real estate agents in California and they were hurt hard during the recession. They lost their house and downsized twice. They are now living with her married sister and her family while my cousin's husband is in the hospital awaiting a double lung transplant. He has four infections he has to fight before he can receive the new lungs. The hospital is far away and she tries to be there as much as possible while trying to keep selling real estate and doing another part-time job. Although $100 won't make a big dent in her bills, it will surely help pay for gas and parking that she needs to pay weekly in order to visit him."

• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. However, all of the money collected has been committed and we no longer are accepting submissions.
