Toddler found walking alone in Prospect Heights identified

A small child found walking alone near a forest preserve in Prospect Heights Tuesday has been identified, Cook County Sheriff's officials said early Wednesday.

The girl, who is 3 or 4 years old, was found at 6:30 p.m. near Milwaukee Avenue and Palatine Road.

She's described as 2½ feet tall and weighs 30 pounds. She was wearing a gray, pink and purple top, blue pants with a purple bow on the front, blue socks, and purple and yellow Crocs shoes. She has pierced ears and turquoise-colored earrings.

Sheriff's officials did not release details regarding the case.
