Lisle Library expands story time schedule

Parents and children who want to hear a story at the Lisle Library District will get more chances to do so starting this month.

The library is adding Pajama Storytime and Saturday Storytime sessions to its calendar in addition to the nine story time sessions currently offered every week for children 6 months to 6 years old.

"Story time is an important part of every child's early education and we want to ensure every child in Lisle has a chance to participate," said Will Savage, Lisle Library's director of youth services. "We're committed to creating a fun, safe environment that promotes a love of reading at every age."

At the new Pajama Storytime sessions, scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesdays, April 8 and 22, children ages 2 to 6 can bring a stuffed animal and dance to some fun songs before cuddling up for a good story. The Saturday Storytime sessions, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. April 11, 18, and 25, also will include stories and songs for ages 2 to 6.

The library is also hosting a special Clifford the Big Red Dog story time at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 10. Children will get to visit with Clifford plus read stories, sing songs and make a craft.
