Rotary Club of Palatine hosts annual Allocation Dinner

In February, the Rotary Club of Palatine hosted its annual allocation dinner at which $50,000 of funds raised by the club was donated to various charities and organizations located in Palatine and surrounding communities.

Some of the recipients were Journeys (The Road Home), Boy Scouts of America, Northwest Community Hospital, Little City Foundation and Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council.

In addition to donations to nonprofit organizations within the community, the Rotary Club of Palatine also has an ongoing partnership with the village of Palatine, with the most recent development of Rotary Plaza at the corners of Palatine and Plum Grove roads.

"Our relationship with the village of Palatine has been an extreme success, and we hope to continue that partnership in years to come," the club's president, Ben Hebebrand said.

The majority of the club's funds are raised from its annual Oktoberfest, which is held yearly, the third weekend of September, in downtown Palatine. This year the Rotary Club of Palatine's Oktoberfest will be held Sept. 18-20. All ages are welcome to attend this free event to experience authentic German food, beverages, and entertainment.

Rotary's motto is service above self. The Rotary Club of Palatine meets 7:15 a.m. every Tuesday morning, at the Red Apple Pancake House. All are welcome to attend. Visit www.palatinerotary.org for more information.
