An Hour In ... Wheaton

When you're a Daily Herald photographer, you're always on the move, looking for images that catch your eye.

It's hard to imagine anyone on our staff who knows more about our communities than the members of our photo team. They're out and about at all hours of the day and night, in all sorts of weather, trying to capture the heart and soul of our towns in pictures and, now more than ever, in video.

Our Bev Horne is no different and she's been doing it for quite a while - she'll be celebrating her 25th anniversary with the DuPage County photo staff this fall.

Recently, though, we gave her a different type of assignment. We asked her to spend roughly an hour in Wheaton pulling together a travelogue of sorts that's part of an occasional series designed to explore DuPage County towns from a different perspective.

We call it "An Hour In ..." and it's being compiled by staff members - photographers, reporters, editors - who drive around town shooting pictures of things that grab their attention: the obvious and the obscure, big stuff and small.

What you see here is just an example of some of the shots Bev captured during her tour of Wheaton.

To check out the rest, look for our town gallery every Sunday at dailyherald.com/galleries and on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. On our social media sites, feel free to share your favorite Wheaton photos with us by using #shareyoursuburb.

And tell us what photos are your favorites. Which ones stir a memory for you? Where do you love to go in town?

In the meantime, please enjoy our snapshot of "An Hour In Wheaton."
