McEnroe, Roddick among tennis legends playing Thursday at Sears Centre

Tennis greats John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Jim Courier and James Blake will take to the court Thursday at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates T for a series of exhibition matches as part of the PowerShares QQQ Challenge.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m., following a format that features two one-set semifinal matches, with the winners moving on to a one-set championship match. McEnroe and Courier will play in the first match, followed by Roddick and Blake in the second semifinal, according to the PowerShares QQQ Challenge website.

Tickets for the competition range in price from $253 for courtside seats to $38, and are on sale at the Sears Centre website, searscentre.com.

Also available are a series of VIP packages that include opportunities to meet and take photos with the players, attend a question-and-answer session with a player, and participate in a “play with the pros” event, a one-hour group hitting session with two of the tournament headlining players. McEnroe is a seven-time Grand Slam champion and former number one ranked player in the world who now works as a tennis commentator. Roddick, another former world No. 1, won the 2003 U.S. Open and appeared in four other Grand Slam finals. Courier's four Grand Slam titles include the 1991 and 1992 French Opens and the 1992 and 1993 Australian Opens. Blake is a 10-time tournament champion who reached No. 4 in the world rankings in 2006.
