Candidate was only one to fight 'downtown' plan
I believe the people of Buffalo Grove will be voting for Beverly Sussman as president of the village board of trustees.
She was the one person - the only person - that listened to the objections and pleas of the people, and spoke up for them during the two-year outrage of the screwball plan to create a "downtown" in the middle of a flood plain, in the middle of a golf course.
This went on for two years, when the village's engineers reported it would cost $20 million to just prepare the flood plain ground for such a project and two to three years to even get a building permit before you could even put a spade in the ground.
Finally, the week she announced her candidacy for the office of president, the board instantly abandoned the downtown boondoggIe.
