Where was outrage over settlement?

Our Mayor Arlene Juracek has been complaining about Gov. Rauner's plans to reduce the sharing of tax revenue with municipalities quite openly and bitterly based upon her press coverage in the Daily Herald. I am very curious that mayor is so concerned about this loss of $2 million in funding more than the millions of dollars that were lost in the debacle with the Ye Olde Town Tavern Inn which cost Mount Prospect $2 million and made the entire village staff look inept and political in their actions.

Where was her outrage, where is the accountability? Residents have not heard of any employees being dismissed or suspended for their actions that have costs of millions of dollars. There is no private firm in the world that would not investigate what happened if an employee cost it millions of dollars.

Then over the weekend we hear that the administration is negotiating with our city manager over a departure package. I hope the administration and trustees have learned from the College of DuPage fiasco that full disclosure is the correct way to go. The residents are not going to tolerate a six-digit severance package with over-the-top pension benefits in times such as these.

I hope all the elected officials in Mount Prospect realize that this is an election year and the mood is, remove all incumbents.
