Plow driver's thoughtfulness appreciated on Schaumburg cul-de-sac

This is an open letter to David Lawry, Schaumburg director of Public Works.

I want to take a minute to thank one of your employees, whoever was driving the yellow road grader used for plowing cul-de-sacs in the village. He was coming into our cul-de-sac on the north end of Aegean Drive when I signaled him and pointed to the grass island in the middle of our very large cul-de-sac.

He understood immediately, turned his blade to the inside and proceeded to clear our street with little or no new snow on or blocking our driveway entrances. He saved our backs a lot of pain.

Too often, we complain when things aren't as we would like, now it is time to thank whoever was driving that rig. It didn't take him any extra time but he saved the 11 homeowners on this circle a lot of work with his thoughtfulness.
