Scramble to find eggs in the dark in Palatine

Egg hunts aren't just for kids and pets.

Just ask Melissa Randle, 40, of Algonquin whose strategy of “just run and move fast” yielded her a basket of over 50 eggs.

Lisa Schroeder, special interest coordinator for the Palatine Park District, was the brains behind this night event.

“I was looking for something fun to do. This is all my craziness,” Schroeder said.

The park district held its after-dark 3rd annual Flashlight Egg Scramble for adults ages 21 and over on Friday night. The fun-filled evening included an egg hunt, a souvenir photo with the bunny, raffle entries, selfie station, cash bar and light snacks.

Participants also received a bag from Alexian Brothers Health System filled with goodies from event sponsors and a flashlight donated by Premier Credit Union.
