U.S. won't benefit from pipeline disruptions
Regarding letters about the Keystone Pipeline on Feb. 19 and 21, writers talked about the dangers of tanker trains transporting oil.
The pipeline they are proposing will transport only Canadian oil. Oil from the Dakotas and Montana will still have to be transported by train and trucks.
They already have a pipeline from Canada down to the gulf that was used for propane or natural gas. They quit using it for that purpose, and to the best of my knowledge it is now being used to pump seawater, which they use to get the oil out of the sands, which are called tar sands.
This, in turn caused a propane shortage in the U.S. and raised the price of it very high!
So I don't see any benefit to the U.S. to disrupt ranch land and farm fields for something the U.S. won't benefit from.
