School board elections are critical
About 90 percent of our fellow community members do not make it to the polls for our local board of education elections. It's a shame.
These very important elections occur every two years. This year, it occurs on April 7. These are critical elections because schools are a vital component of our communities and because the majority of our local tax dollars finance the public schools.
Don't you want honest, wise stewards on these boards to make sure the money collected is used efficiently? I sure do.
Don't you want people elected who display integrity, who are independent thinkers, who ask questions, who are the check and balance these boards are meant to be? I sure do.
I've been attending board of education meetings for about eight years, and I see the direct result of these elections.
That is why I vote and encourage others to as well.
There are public servants, and then there are the politicians. That is why I am casting votes for Manjula Sriram, Frank Annerino, and Gerard Iannuzzelli for District 15 and Peter Dombrowski for District 211.
You don't have to take my word for it. Do some research and then vote. These elections matter. Big time.
