Endorsements: Lazzara, Stevic in Wood Dale

The good news for Wood Dale's First Ward is that two qualified candidates are interested in serving on the city council. Unfortunately there is only one open seat.

Incumbent Frank Lazzara demonstrates good knowledge of the city and issues, and during his time on the council, the city has moved forward with initiatives that will help drive Wood Dale's growth in the future.

Gandolfo "Randy" Messina brings a large amount of community involvement, most notably his work on the city's Streetscape and Economic Enhancement Committee.

Either candidate would be a fine choice for the office. We give the nod to Lazzara, the incumbent.

In contrast to Ward 1, two newcomers with only some community involvement are running in Ward 3: R.J. "Sonny" Sorrentino and Stefan Stevic. Both demonstrate good knowledge about the city and issues, but we feel Stevic expresses more specific ideas about how to address those issues, and so he is endorsed.
