I respect our village's history and rural character, and will respect the opinions of all our residents.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?We have been well-covered by the Libertyville Fire Department, the Lincolnshire Fire Department and the Lake County Sheriff. My goal would be to insure that our protection is equal to or greater than neighboring municipalities.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Regarding our budget, I believe our Board has well met its fiduciary responsibility to the community. I would encourage continued rigorous oversight and the competitive bidding process.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Improve the lifestyle image of our community and create an Emergency Management Plan for our village. We are a horse community, and we need to protect the safety not only of our residents, but also our animals.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Continue to strengthen village unity. For example, with the possible construction of a village hall, we will require the input of all residents on such issues as financial feasibility, design, location and community use.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Malala Yousafzai.
