I will embrace our existing businesses and work to attract new businesses to the Village to ensure growth while strengthening the strategic plan of the Village. I am a hard working, dedicated and loyal resident who wants the best for the Village and its residents. What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.I believe the current levels of both sales and property taxes are in line with the local communities in DuPage County. As Trustees, we have to be mindful of the services our residents desire, while at the same time, work to ensure our budget remains balanced without placing an additional tax burden on our community.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns? Both Departments appear to be well positioned to provide the Village with current and future coverage. Our police department has successfully provided more community service with less resources while the fire district continues to cover a large area beyond our Village boundaries.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Having recently reviewed the budget, I believe that the Village has trimmed the budget to support necessary expenditures. The challenge will be to maintain the budget's integrity while working to increase revenues through the growth of businesses. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Assist the Mayor in his desire to attract new businesses to the Village. We need to continue to develop a business friendly environment that promotes growth and supports innovation. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?I will assist the Village staff and our business partners to develop a plan to utilize the Old Town area for commerce and attractions that will become the center of the community. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Pope FrancisWhat's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?There is no substitute for hard workIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?There is nothing I would do-over. Everything that has happened to me has made me the person I am today. What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?History, studying the past will always help you in the future in any facet of lifeIf you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Never take anything for granted, and live everyday to the fullest
