We are on the right tract and I feel that coming in with a pair of "fresh eyes"can only help bring Prospect Heights into the future and continue in the right direction.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Our property taxes are fair and competitive with our surrounding neighbors, however to continue at our level, the need for increased sales taxes through new business development is needed.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?As a resident, I feel that our Police and Fire Departments are well prepared for emergencies, with the exception of accessible water from fire hydrants when the need arises. Until our hydrant issue is solved I would like to see additional tanker trucks added to the Department if our budget allows.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?No comment at this time.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?I would like to see all of our neighbors take pride in their property. I see too many ducked taped mailboxes, lawns not mowed or raked, garbage cans left out front for days after pickup and abandoned cars while driving through our City. I would like to see a "Take Pride" Campaign started in the City via our website, local channel and newsletters. In the case of our senior citizens and physically impaired neighbors, a "Help" hotline could be established if they do not have the support they need to maintain their property. Assistance to them could be offered within our community and with high school volunteers.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?I would like to see our voter registration and turnout increased. Support from the community for any City Government is a blessing. The more citizens involved can only better this town.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.What May Helmer has done from this City is inspiring, gaining the respect of our community and neighbors.What's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Everyone deserves respectIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I would not have climbed on a ladder back in 2010 and broke both legsWhat was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Math and accounting were my favorite and were an essential part of owning my own business.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Whether you are a CEO or a ditch digger, be happy in what you do and do it well.
