Rauner is prepared to fix Illinois

When a governor submits a budget, whether be a Republican or a Democrat, if the budget contains cuts, some groups won't be happy, if it contains increases, some groups will complain that the increase is too small. Gov. Rauner has proposed a responsible budget. Obviously, the governor clearly understands the seriousness of the states financial problem and how bad decisions in the past would require reforms and sacrifices to wipe out a massive state debt.

The state is drowning in red ink, the Democratic bosses House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton, in their combined 80 years in state government, have seen many governors and have been unable to correct the problem. In fact they have made matters worse.

Even Pat Quinn promised a day of reckoning, but the bosses ignored him. In fact, Cullerton called him "irrelevant."

Not everyone sees Rauner's budget as bad, However, the union bosses and the Democrats do. Let's hope that the Springfield bosses see Gov. Rauner as a relevant governor who is prepared to fix a broken Illinois,
