Abortion: End result is the same

Abortion: End result is the same

I read Sheila Lenk's letter Feb. 10 about the reasons why women have abortions.

Bottom line, there is only one reason for having an abortion, to end the life of a baby. Pro-life persons are concerned about the mother and the baby.

My heart goes out to women who consider abortion because they are threatened or coerced by a friend or family to have an abortion, or feel they cannot handle the burden of caring for a baby. Help is available. Any Catholic church or Christian should be able to provide contact information.

I don't understand how terminating a baby in the womb is better than drowning a baby or beating a baby to death. The end result is the same. A baby is inflicted with pain and the end result is death.

The writer says the cost of raising a child is $300,000 and a young woman would not have that amount of money. Also, it would be rare to find any couple planning to conceive a child to have that amount of money available.

Some women make the decision to have an abortion. All goes well and they have no guilt feelings. Her worry and concerns are over. However, that is not always the case.

Another concern is the unsanitary conditions of abortion clinics. Abortion clinics are closed for various reasons, but unsanitary conditions is one of the main reasons.

There other options. Adoption - childless couples are able and willing to give a baby a home loving care.

Then there is the option that the secular society doesn't want to talk about - abstinence. It is safe, there are no fees, no taxpayer money is used, it carries a 100 percent guarantee and there are no guilt feelings and or regrets later in life. No pregnancy, no decision to even consider an abortion.
