Fire damages Batavia garage

A fire damaged a detached garage in Batavia Monday afternoon, fire officials said.

The blaze started just before 1:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Batavia Avenue in a two-car, detached garage, Batavia fire officials said in a news release.

It caused about $30,000 in damage. Nobody was injured, and the cause remains under investigation. Geneva fire, Batavia police and the Kane County Sheriff's department assisted.
