GLMV 2015 to host Technology Conference

What exactly does "the cloud" mean? Find out at the Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Chamber of Commerce 2015 Technology Conference from 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Community High School District 128 Office, 50 Lakeview Parkway, No. 101, Vernon Hills.

This conference will clarify "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" about the cloud for business professionals. Learn how cloud services can provide solutions to get your business booming with productivity. Get the inside scoop on what the cloud is and how to use it to save money and boost efficiency.

The conference is for business owners, managers, IT/tech professionals, marketing/sales professionals, and anyone else who wishes to sharpen their skills and increase awareness on the benefits of cloud computing.

All attendees will be entered into the raffle for a 23-inch LED Acer Monitor, a value of $300.

Conference agenda:

• 8:30-9 a.m.: registration/networking/breakfast;

• 9 a.m.: Welcome by Jim Butler, JHB Technology Consulting Inc.; "Introduction to the Cloud," presented by Grant Hoover, Symphony Systems Inc.;

• 9:45 a.m.: "Using the Cloud in Business," presented by Bruce Ruedig, Platinum Systems Inc.; Cloud Computing Platforms;

• 10:40 a.m.: "Microsoft," presented by Larry Parkinson, Parkinson Systems Inc.;

• 11 a.m.: "Google," presented by Ron Horner, Horner Consulting & Publishing;

• 11:20 a.m.: "Apple," presented by Dave Knauff, MendIT Solutions;

• 11:40 a.m.: Panel discussion;

• Noon: Raffle for 23-inch LED Acer Monitor donated by Platinum Systems.

The cost to attend is $15 for members in advance or $20 at the door; $50 for nonmembers. Fee includes registration/networking, program, materials, Q&A, and a light breakfast provided by Corner Bakery Cafe of Vernon Hills.
