Believe Project: $100 to a teacher for a first-grade student with brain cancer

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Cheri Grimaldi of Bloomingdale.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"One of the first-grade students in the school where I teach was diagnosed with brain cancer last May. This little boy is kindhearted, courageous and wise beyond his years. I couldn't help but think of him when I read about the Believe Project. The medical expenses for him and his family are mounting. I thought, wouldn't it be wonderful to donate the $100 to him to brighten his day?"

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
