Blue Jackets activate Murray, sent Anderson down to AHL

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Ryan Murray off injured reserve and assigned right wing Josh Anderson to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Murray has missed the last 36 games because of a knee injury.

The 21-year-old Murray, the No. 2 pick overall in the 2013 draft, also missed the first seven games of the season because of an offseason knee surgery. He has four goals and 17 assists and a +4 plus/minus rating in 66 NHL games.

The 20-year-old Anderson made his NHL debut on Jan. 16 and picked up an assist for his first NHL point on Thursday night at Florida.
