HONOLULU (AP) - Defending champion Jimmy Walker one-putted his last 11 holes Saturday on his way to an 8-under 62 and a two-shot lead in the Sony Open.

Walker putted like he did on Sunday last year at Waialae. That gave him a victory. This only gave him a chance to become the first player since Ernie Els in 2004 to successfully defend at the Sony Open.

With his 16th consecutive round in the 60s in Hawaii, Walker was at 16-under 194.

Matt Kuchar birdied two of his last three holes for a 68 and was two shots behind.

Walker had a share of the lead going into the final round at Kapalua last week in the Tournament of Champions and lost in a playoff.
