Fire damages Mount Prospect garage, no injuries reported
Fire caused about $30,000 in damage to a Mount Prospect garage early Thursday morning, but no injuries were reported and firefighters were able to bring it under control in just 10 minutes, officials said.
Mount Prospect firefighters called to the residence in the 600 block of West Rand Road at about 7:05 a.m. discovered smoke and flames comes from the detached garage on the property. The adjacent home had been evacuated by the time firefighters arrived, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters from Prospect Heights assisted, according to the Mount Prospect Fire Department.
