Why didn't officer pull driver over?

When I was driving to work I was turning left onto 83. A police car (Mount Prospect) SUV was also turning left - opposite direction. I had gotten to the light first. So when my light changed I got a solid green light with a solid arrow, and I preceded to go. I had to slam on my brakes because out of the corner on my eye a white car was speeding right through the red light (it could have been the end of me).

The police vehicle did nothing. No lights went on. Nothing! Someone, mainly me, could have been killed and he/she did nothing!

So it made me mad. I went to the police station and asked if I could talk to the police chief, I was told no. So the officer asked what was the problem and I told him.

He said without the vehicle's number, which is on the back, side and top (not the front) we really can't do anything, it was at 1:38 a.m. I know the time and the corner. Well, he said he would talk to the night supervisor; the problem is he took none of the info to be able to talk to the supervisor.

Yes this is were your tax money is going ... kinda cool to see it at work. Don't park on the street at 2 a.m., you'll have a ticket for sure. Let's remember what's important!
