Convergint Technologies acquires U.K. company

SCHAUMBURG - Convergint Technologies said it has acquired Beacon Security and Communications Solutions, a provider of physical security systems and services in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe.

Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

Beacon is a value-added security solutions provider serving global Fortune 500 companies. Founded in 1994 in Crowborough, England, Beacon provides an array of security services, including system design, integration, support, and training.

Beacon employees more than 50 people in the U.K.

"We are servicing more global customers today and continue to build-out our worldwide service capabilities. After expanding into Asia Pacific in 2013, the addition of Beacon now provides Convergint the ability to service global clients in the UK and throughout Europe," said Dan Moceri, executive chairman of Convergint Technologies. "We are excited to have Ian Glen, Beacon founder and Managing Director, join Convergint along with his entire leadership team and all other Beacon colleagues."

Ian Glen, Managing Director of Beacon Security, said the company has developed tailored European support solutions for Fortune 500 and FTSE organizations since 2004.

"Joining the Convergint team allows us to deliver in-house end-to-end solutions and support in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Our partnership will allow us to provide single-source professional services for our valued clients across their sphere of operation," Glen said.

Convergint Technologies designs, installs and services integrated building systems, including electronic security, fire alarm and life safety, and building automation solutions.
