Household chemical waste collections in Gurnee
Household chemical waste collections will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, and Monday, Jan. 26, at the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County facility, 1311 N. Estes St., Gurnee. Appointments are required for the collections, which are for residential waste only. No business waste will be accepted. The events are free for Illinois residents. Items you can bring to a collection include: CFL bulbs, unwanted prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and supplements (people and pet), household cleaners, gasoline, garden chemicals, pesticides, oil-based paints (no latex) and varnishes, as well as other household chemicals.
