U-46 principal can't have it both ways

The recent protest at South Elgin High School supported and directed by Principal James Edwards provides more evidence to both the double standard and embedded social engineering being driven by many within U-46. Mr. Edwards' motivation was for a teachable moment. Well, that should start with a bit of fact, not fiction. In demonstrating, the students marched and yelled "hands up don't shoot" with their hands up - actions that never took place by Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo.

Ironically, last year when students at South Elgin High School, on their own, took up the call for a peaceful protest against a terribly conceived change in the grading scale within U-46, which punished good students and rewarded bad students, they were told that no protests could be held on U-46 grounds, even though the results had much more of an effect on those involved.

So which is it, Principal Edwards? Can students protest, or are you in violation of U-46 rules? Or, as I suspect, you'll make the decision based upon what suits you.
