Editor's Choice: Fox Valley holiday lights winner

An interview with Jim and Vicki Lococo

Q: How long have you been decorating your house like this?

Jim Lococo: 25 years. Since we got married.

Q: What inspired you to go all out with your decorations?

Jim Lococo: My parents always did it. I liked it as a kid.

Q: How many hours does it take to put up the display?

Jim Lococo: It takes a while. I work on it over two weekends. At least eight full hours.

Q: How many strings of lights are involved?

Jim Lococo: I don't have a lot of strings of lights, I have a lot of lighted animation.

Q: How much does your electric bill spike in December?

Vicki Lococo: It doubles.

Q: What do your neighbors think of your display?

Vicki Lococo: They love it.

Jim Lococo: They like the Santa Claus. He talks.

My proudest moment was when I got a handwritten letter from a young girl who said she walks down here every year to see my house because it's her favorite.
