Mt. Prospect Fire Department receives $4,175 grant

The Mount Prospect Fire Department received a $4,175 donation from the Marathon Petroleum Corporation as part of its First Responders Grant Program on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Mount Prospect terminal manager Mike Whalen personally presented the check to the fire department.

The funds will be used to help purchase additional firefighting equipment for the petroleum storage facilities located in Mount Prospect.

"We are grateful for this generous donation," said Fire Chief John Malcolm. "It's important that the fire department stays current with equipment that meets the industry standards to ensure the safety of our community."

The fire department has received grants from Marathon Petroleum in past years as well.

"I would like to thank Marathon Petroleum for their continued support of our department," said Malcolm.
