Rotary Club of Palatine allocation applications available

The Rotary Club of Palatine is currently accepting applications from organizations for possible donations from the club.

Organizations applying for funding support from the Rotary Club of Palatine should support the direct Palatine community and be tax exempt under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Monies to be distributed were raised during the 2014 Oktoberfest celebration held Sept. 19-21, in downtown Palatine.

"We had an excellent Oktoberfest that will aid the Rotary Club of Palatine to once again allocate much needed funds to those in need," said the chairman of the allocations committee, Jeff Johnson. "It's a great feeling to be part of an organization that can give back so much, especially when so many have had to cut back."

The 2014 donation is again one of the largest allocation amounts raised and given out by the Rotary Club of Palatine in a single year. Johnson also pointed out that all applications will be considered for funding, but funding is not guaranteed.

Organizations interested in receiving a charitable allocation should submit their application no later than Friday, Jan. 23, 2015. Applications are available at the Rotary Club of Palatine's Facebook website or through committee member Oliver Girke at oliveregirke@aol.com.

The Official Allocation Handover Ceremony will be from 5:30-9 p.m. on Feb. 20, at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road, Palatine.
