Park Ridge man charged with child porn possession
A 47-year-old Park Ridge man has been charged after authorities said they found more than 1,000 images of child pornography in his possession.
Albert Galus, a former tutor for middle school and high school students, was arrested Tuesday.
A Cook County grand jury had indicted him on 16 counts of aggravated possession of child pornography and nine counts of possesion of child pornography. Aggravated possession signifies the children featured were under 13 years of age, according to a Cook County sheriff's office news release.
The investigation began back in 2011 after Galus went to get his computer repaired, police said. The computer repair technician found a child porn video on the computer and got in touch with the FBI, according to authorities.

Galus is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 31 at the Skokie courthouse.
