Hoffman Estates mayor supports food drive

Hoffman Estates Mayor Bill McLeod will be busy this week helping out at several businesses in the village where donations of nonperishable goods will be collected for the Hanover Township food pantry.

McLeod will start his rounds at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heroic Fitness, 2626 New Sutton Road in the Poplar-Prairie Shopping Center. He will serve "Thinny Mint" and eggnog smoothies and kick off a "Sleigh Bells Strength" fitness class.

From 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, McLeod will be pouring coffee at Apple Villa, 3101 Barrington Road. Starting at 6 p.m. the same day, he will be trying his hand at pizza making at Garibaldi's, 2346 W. Higgins Road.

Food donations will be accepted at these businesses through Wednesday, Dec. 31, and at village hall, 1900 Hassell Road, all year.
