Bingo equals rainy day fun for Schaumburg seniors

What better way to spend a rainy December afternoon than a little game of bingo?

That was the plan Tuesday for seniors visiting the Schaumburg Barn, where games were played for a large variety of holiday-themed prizes.

"Bingo is a daily activity here at the Schaumburg Barn. The seniors really enjoy it, it's one of their favorite pastimes and social activities that they take part in," said Marina Lvovich, senior services coordinator for The Schaumburg Barn Senior Program.

Louise Daleno of Schaumburg was one of the lucky players, winning a Christmas plate along with Christmas cards.

"I win quite a bit here," she said. "Last month in November, I won five times."

John Skipworth and Alice Barmann wait as they have their winning bingo card validated Tuesday by "runner" Robert Garvey, at the Schaumburg Barn in Schaumburg. Players competed for a host of prizes, including holiday-themed gifts. Bob Chwedyk/bchwedyk@dailyherald.com
