Palatine Legion group hosts Santa breakfast Dec. 20

The Sons of the American Legion in Palatine are hosting a special holiday pancake breakfast with Santa open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 20.

The event will take place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 122 W. Palatine Road in Palatine, to raise funds for Legion Family Charities.

"Children will be able to tell Santa what they want for Christmas and get a picture with Santa for $2, or free with the donation of a nonperishable food item," said Jim Steiner, commander of the S.A.L.

Breakfast includes all you can eat pancakes and French toast, as well as sausages, scrambled eggs, fruit, orange juice, coffee and milk. Children can special order chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes.

The breakfast costs $7 for adults, and $4 for children between 6 and 12 years old. Children under 5 years old are free.
