Local Student Succeeds at Illinois State University

Michelle Mason, Lake Villa, is serving as the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UTA) for Illinois State University's student radio station, WZND.

As the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, Mason is in charge of managing the front office, creating studio schedules, teaching students and helping with other departments. This is Mason's fifth semester at WZND.

Before becoming the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for WZND, Mason served as the producer of the Morning Show for two semesters, and member of the music department.

Mason, daughter of Michael and Katalin, graduated from Grayslake North High School in 2009. She plans to graduate from Illinois State University in December 2014 with a major in Mass Media: Media Management, Sales and Promotions.
