All about Sgt. Tyler Heisey at the St. Charles McDonald's

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, it was all about Sgt. Tyler Heisey at the St. Charles McDonald's at 1915 W. Main St.

St. Charles East teachers took over the restaurant serving up delicious meals to students and families to raise money for 2007 graduate Sgt. Tyler Heisey.

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Heisey, 24, suffered a traumatic brain injury from an improvised explosive device on Aug. 10, 2012, in Afghanistan.

Many teachers worked very hard including "McPrincipal" Charlie Kyle to raise funds for Sgt. Heisey. The "McTeacher" jobs included: drive-thru teachers, greeters, teachers cleaning the lobby, front counter teachers, drink teachers, teachers clearing tables, and teachers serving ice cream. There were even teachers singing for tips.

St. Charles East "McTeachers" had it all covered, and the families all had a great time. Lots of students, teachers, families and friends came out to support Sgt. Tyler Heisey. All the kids came to see their teachers perform and work at the St. Charles McDonald's and support Sgt. Heisey.

A special appearance by the talented band "McTeachers" helped make this fundraiser a memorable evening.

A special thank you goes to Assistant Principal Lisa Dandre who organized the entire event. It was a great night!
