Elk Grove Trustee Pat Feichter recognized for civic education service

Elk Grove Village Trustee Pat Feichter was recognized last weekend for more than 20 years dedicated to civic education - time that included coaching a national champion high school constitution team.

Feichter was honored by the Illinois Center for Civic Education Dec. 5 at the organization's state constitution competition at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago. Feichter helped form the group and is a member of its board of directors.

Feichter, who was a teacher and coach for the Maine South High School constitution team for 11 years, led the team to a national championship in 1999. After retirement, he continued as state coordinator of the We the People competition.
