Speak up about your school district taxes

Citizens, beware! School District 214 has approved a 2.4 percent (increase in the) tax levy for next year. District 214 will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.

School District 211 voted strongly at their November meeting to raise the tax levy again, despite having an enormous stockpile of our cash already. They are meeting at 7:30 p.m. on December 11 at the Administration Building, Roselle and Algonquin roads, Palatine.

Our taxes are going to go up again. Please attend a meeting and voice your concerns during the public comment when we can let the school board know how we feel about the tax levy being raised again. They have to do their budgets before the end of the year.

If you do not live in either school district, I suggest you find out when your school board is meeting and get involved.
