A Warrenville family escaped harm Sunday after fire broke out in the chimney of their home, authorities said.

Warrenville Fire Protection District firefighters called to the residence on the 29W600 block of Ridge Drive at about 12:30 p.m. arrived to find fire coming through the roof of the structure. Crews fought the fire from the inside through the attic and outside from a tower truck, quickly putting out the blaze, officials said.

Residents were at home at the time of the fire and safely evacuated without injury.

Fire Chief Dennis Rogers said the department received assistance from the West Chicago, Naperville, Downers Grove and Fermi Lab fire departments.
