Police responded to a report of a car hitting a pedestrian on Route 59 near Beach Avenue around 6:19 p.m., said Sgt. Scot Kurek.

The male pedestrian was talking and conscious at the scene, but was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with non life-threatening injuries, Kurek said.

The road was shut down for about 45 minutes due to the investigation, which caused some traffic issues in the area.
