Believe Project: $100 to help bring joy to boy struck by lightning

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Cynthia Singer of Schaumburg.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"In June 2013 my 12-year-old daughter was at camp. A 12-year-old boy was also at camp who was struck by lightning while working with younger kids. It was a beautiful summer day with blue skies. He suffered severe injuries and can't walk or talk yet. There are fundraising efforts for his ongoing medical care, but I would like to give the family $100 to be spent on something that will bring Ethan joy. I think he would like music and maybe a nice pair of headphones."

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
