Looters were criminals, not protesters

There has been much said about the recent event in Ferguson, Mo. The announcement that there would not be an indictment fueled another round of protests as well as criminal activity.

I was disappointed to see the caption under an Associated Press photo on Page 5 of your paper identifying an individual with face covered and arms full of merchandise as "A protester walks out of a store with goods after the announcement of the grand jury decision Monday in Ferguson, Mo." This was clearly not a protester but rather a criminal looting a store. To label this person otherwise is poor journalism. Let's report the reality of what is happening, and let's encourage the true protesters to do so in a productive manner to bring about true change.
