Bartlett police ramp up traffic enforcement for Thanksgiving

Bartlett police will devote 70 extra patrol hours to enforcing the rules of the road over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Bartlett's participation in the Illinois Department of Transportation's DUI and Seat Belt Enforcement campaign continues through Sunday. The initiative started Monday and was funded by a state grant.

Numerous other suburban police departments are conducting similar enforcement campaigns over the holiday weekend.

Bartlett police will spend 20 additional patrol hours checking for seat belt violations and 50 additional patrol hours to conduct DUI saturation patrols.
