Hamilton's supporters gather again at Wisconsin park

MILWAUKEE - Supporters and family members of a black man fatally shot by a white Milwaukee officer last spring have gathered again in the downtown park where the April shooting happened.

About two dozen supporters of Dontre Hamilton put up signs Monday on the city Christmas tree at Red Arrow Park. The signs included messages such as "Justice for Dontre Hamilton" and "What if he was your brother." Their gathering came ahead of a grand jury decision in the Ferguson, Missouri, police shooting case.

Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Manney shot the 31-year-old Hamilton 14 times.

Hamilton's mother, Maria Hamilton, tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1tfHiRa) she wants a special prosecutor to handle the case.

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn fired Manney for instigating the fight that led to the shooting. Manney is appealing his firing.
