Two hurt in Addison crash

Two people were injured in a crash that destroyed their car - split into two pieces - in Addison early Saturday, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the 2200 block of West Lake Street about 2:35 a.m. Crews found the remnants of one vehicle that was "severely" damaged, Lt. Chris Mansfield said.

The two occupants were taken to Adventist GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights, police said in a news release. Fire officials declined to say what caused the crash and the extent of the passengers' injuries, citing an ongoing police investigation.
