Man turns self in after Elgin police ask for ID help

Elgin police said a man they wanted to speak with regarding an aggravated battery has turned himself in.

Police were seeking the public's assistance in identifying the man Friday morning. By early afternoon, police said he'd turned himself in.

The battery, of which police provided few details, took place Oct. 25 at an Elgin business.

The man was described as a white male in his 20s or 30s with short brown hair, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall.
