Higgins Road in Schaumburg reopens after crash

Higgins Road at North Martingale Road in Schaumburg was reopened to traffic late this morning after a two-vehicle crash took out a traffic signal early in the day.

Police said no one was injured in the 5:45 a.m. crash, which caused a vehicle to knock down a signal on the northwest corner of the heavily traveled intersection and snarled traffic there for hours. One driver was checked at the scene, but declined to be taken to a hospital for further examination, police said.

There were no immediate reports of citations issued as a result of the crash.
