Animal Hospital of Lake Villa collects materials for local shelters

Submitted by Animal Hospital of Lake Villa

Animal Hospital of Lake Villa strives to help out as much as it can. Recently, Dr. Edward McGinniss and office manager Marilyn McLin had the idea to host a donation drive.

They asked all clients, staff members, Facebook friends, and community members to bring in blankets, beds, leashes, collars, toys, food and treats to donate to local rescue groups.

Together, they were able to raise 227 pounds of dog food, 55 pounds of cat food, 10 packages of treats, 66 cans of food, 152 tennis balls, 11 toys, and other supplies such as collars, leashes, dog beds, blankets, diapers, jackets, and harnesses.

All of the supplies were split up as evenly as possible and donated to five local animal rescues: Cas-A-Way Pet Rescue, Petropolis, Wags-2-Wishes, Green Pup Shelter, and Lake Villa's Lost Angels, all of which are in constant need for all of these supplies.
