Streamwood man pleads guilty to reckless conduct

A Streamwood man who police say fired a .22-caliber bullet that went into a neighbor's house during a June 2013 party pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless conduct, court records show.

Originally charged with a felony, Peter Kriescher, 50, pleaded guilty last week to the amended charge. In exchange for his guilty plea, a Cook County judge sentenced Kriescher to 12 months probation and ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service, according to court records.

Additionally, the judge ordered Kriescher to pay $2,500 in restitution and $284 in fines, court records show.

Reports of a loud party on June 2, 2013, brought Streamwood police to the 400 block of Sherwood Drive, where officers discovered a bullet lodged in a closet door of a nearby home. They said he had been firing at books and beer cans in his backyard.

They subsequently arrested Kriescher and four other people ranging in age from 18 to 22. They pleaded guilty to reckless conduct last year and were sentenced to one year of supervision each.
